Over the years, Mr. Eitner has won several awards and has presented a series of workshops on digital leadership, technology infusion, and student achievement. A few of his more recent awards include the 2015 national Educators Voice Award in the category of Superintendent and the White House MakerSpace distinction From both President’s Bush and Obama.
In addition, he was recognized by the National Academy of Arts & Sciences as one its Educators to Watch in 2016.
Apart from his work as an educator, he had been a member of the Township of Union Police Department for 14 years as a special police officer. In the past, he had been an active member of several committees in various community organizations. These include the Township of Union Planning Board, the Township of Union Municipal Drug Alliance (where he served as chairman), the East Brunswick Educational Foundation, the Long Valley Women’s Club, the Waterford Library Board, and Waterford Office of Emergency Management Committee.
He currently holds membership at the AASA – The School Superintendent’s Association, the New Jersey Association of School Administration, and the New Jersey Council of Educators. He had also worked as a volunteer at the soup kitchen for Elijah’s Promise.
In his spare time, Mr. Eitner enjoys traveling and boating. He enjoys taking his boat all over the NJ shore. He is fond of cooking and enjoys Mediterranean cuisine, seafood, and sushi. He also enjoys diverse genres, mainly preferring jazz and swing but also enjoying the music of Metallica and the Wu-Tang Clan.
He currently resides in Lavallette, NJ.
